BAL study on milk production costs in the Netherlands

This study from the BAL (Farm Economics and Rural Studies Office, Germany) calculates milk production costs throughout the participating countries. It is based primarily on data provided by the European Commission’s Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN). This is a reliable, representative and comprehensive basis for the study. Secondly, current price indices of agricultural means of production such as feed, fertilisers, seeds and energy are used to update the available EU data. A third important basis for the calculation is the wage variable, which incorporates the working hours of the farm managers and family members.
