The report evaluates the abolition of the milk quota system in Switzerland. The impact on the development of supply and of milk prices is analysed and recommendations concerning the quota abolition in the EU are given at the end of the study. A special focus is placed on the accompanying measures for the transitional period in Switzerland and for the new market situation, which have been discussed on a political level and within the sector (producers, processors and retail).
